Prince George CUPE Locals have tabled a new contract offer to the City of Prince George.  The offer was made late last week as union workers prepared for strike action.

"I don’t want to go into details because we are bargaining," says CUPE Local 399 President Gary Campbell, "I don’t want to bargain in bad faith but I can say that we did make a proposal to the city."

Campbell says CUPE is now waiting to hear back from the city on their offer.  He feels the whole contract dispute between the city and its employees will be over soon. He also says no job action will take place for the rest of the year.  He says yesterday’s strike saw a lot of support from city residents.
