TRAIL-The City of Trail and CUPE Local 2087 are scheduled to begin negotiations for a new collective agreement on May 1 with exchange of proposals with bargaining continuing the rest of that week.
On March 8, 2012, a Bargaining Proposal Ratification meeting was held and Trail municipal employees ratified the Union’s bargaining proposals.
Bargaining meetings were originally scheduled for March 28-30, 2012 which was cancelled due to the City not being ready for bargaining.
Bargaining preparations by the 2012 bargaining committee have been cordial and productive since the committee began its work in September, 2011 after being elected in June, 2011.
The Bargaining Committee appreciates the patience of the Trail members and will issue more bargaining updates as bargaining continues through to the ratification of a new collective agreement.
