In Nelson, the rally will be at 12Noon at City Hall.
In Trail, rally participants will gather at at 3:00 pm at the Cenotaph and will march to the board office at 3:30 pm where they will share their thoughts with those assembled.
This follows up on the strong show of support by leaders of the BCTF, the BC Federation of Labour, CUPE, the BCGEU and many other unions who led a march to the provincial legislature Tuesday March 6 to protest Bill 22 and to convince the provincial government to negotiate a fair deal with teachers.
Upwards of 50,000 teachers, parents and union supporters joined in solidarity as a common front against Bill 22 and the actions of the Liberal government to legislate and dictate rather than negotiate.
“Please all support the teachers at the rallies today if you can. Please pass this info on to other union members in your communities”, urged West Kootenay Labour Council President Bruce Northcott who will be in attendance at the rallies along with other community union leaders and union supporters for the striking teachers.
